The story of the Roberts Bros. reads almost like a fairy tale - well, maybe because it almost is...
The formation of the Roberts Bros. dates back almost 2 decades when Jimmy and Peter decided to take some time off from their other projects and do a project together. The result was their highly acclaimed first album release “Sugar & Spice”. The album received extensive airplay on Smooth Jazz radio stations across the US and Canada and the Roberts Bros. received a nomination for the Prism Award for the “Best New Up and Coming Artist” by the Oasis Smooth Jazz Awards. What followed was a long series and many years of other projects that Jimmy and Peter were independently working on. Jimmy was had a busy schedule recording and touring the world with artists like Rod Stewart, Carly Simon, Bonnie Raitt, Sade, Englebert Humperdinck, Rick Braun and others, while Peter produced and wrote songs for artists including George Benson, La Toya Jackson, Daechelle, Bianca Rossini, Survivor, Lisa Frazier, Under Suspicion and many others. While many of his songs were also used in TV shows and feature films, Peter also received several awards and award nominations as a songwriter/producer. But never really losing track of each other Jimmy and Peter finally decided it would be time to get together again and pick up from where they left off.
With a highly motivated fresh new start they re-released a remastered version of “Sugar & Spice” and its featured single “Sooner Or Later” and they are now writing and recording new material for their second album to be released later in 2022.
Jimmy Roberts & Peter Roberts - Smooth Jazz and Pop meet R’n’B energy through two brothers from different worlds…
And here are some answers to questions that people keep asking over and over again:
Did Jimmy and Peter already play music together when they were still children? No.
Did Jimmy and Peter ever share the same instruments since Peter also played sax for a while?
No.
Did Jimmy and Peter practice their instruments in the same room?
No.
Did Jimmy and Peter ever fight over who is playing which instrument?
No.
Are Jimmy and Peter even real brothers?
What do you think?
One question still remains - and that is the most logical question that noone has asked before:
"Who's your Mama?" - but we'll get to that in the very near future…
Thanks for stopping by.
